News From The Front

Some posts on research activities. There are other blog posts about research activity too (like this series), but these occasional ones are about specific content.

The first three I will place in another series collection when I get the time… they are more general than the ones later that are about research specific to me.

I’m very excited to tell you about this! Seems I I’m very excited to tell you about this! Seems I can probe the underlying microstructure of every fully known model of JT gravity using a new approach to computing the full free energy. Look how nicely the first excited state and F(0) line up in this example! Appearing this afternoon. #blackholes #quantumgravity

Exciting new physics! This will be out today in a Exciting new physics! This will be out today in a swift 13 page story. Late last year, I had a flash of inspiration when two separate mysteries I’d put to the back of my mind got together back there and resolved each other! Well, there were lots of aspects to work out to ensure that it wasn’t a fairy story, and I did that with Felipe Rosso and Andy Svesko. A fun collaboration! I wrote a bit about the physics on the blog here: https://asymptotia.com/2021/02/04/full-circle-2/ #blackholes #quantumgravity #stringtheory
