Augsburger_Wunderzeichenbuch,_Folio_52Here is a page of a lovely set of (public domain) images of comets and meteors, as depicted in various ways through the centuries. The above sample is from the famous Augsburger Wunderzeichenbuch (“Book of Miracles” I think it translates as – this is folio 52) from about 1552. I recommend the site public domain review for lots of such collections.
