John Oliver at the LHC

john_oliver_lhcOf all of the videos I’ve seen of people visiting the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), this one is the funniest by very far… yes… it’s John Oliver again:

Yes, I loved this. “Either it will happen or it won’t… so that’s 50/50.” “I don’t think probability works that way.” 😀

There’s an article at wired (http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2009/05/extremelaser/) about extreme ultraviolet light and the photoelectric effect. Interesting new results, especially the revelation that

“Light has been caught kicking electrons out of atoms since the 1830s.”

    Only since the 1830s??!?!?!?!
