At the Casbah

Working at the Casbah in Silver Lake Friday afternoon, I took a break to do a quick (ish) drawing of some of the surroundings. It is very incomplete, but was fun to do…

(Quick pencil layout followed by ballpoint pen…)

    Hi Ele!

    More probably a macchiato…

Yea… I have not been there as much since it turned into a disco… But I do show up from time to time. And scribble.

    Hi Yvette!

That’s great news! You’ve so many wonderful sketching subjects to have a go at! The thing to do is not worry about having to completely finish. Find an aspect that speaks to you and sketch it and move on. You’ll be less distracted if you just do the bits that excite you in that moment…

    Enjoy!

Ah, this reminds me of how I used to see you with a lemon bar and… you drink espresso? I think, at BL scribbling on a little table. I miss the regulars, they made such a pleasant scene.

    Nice one!

I tried sketching the canal bridge near my house last night- wasn’t too bad, but I think my issue is I get distracted. I think it’ll be awhile until I try people in the cafe, they’re hard cause they move. 😉
