I was just reading a bit about the spacecraft Phoenix (a mission to Mars to launch very soon) when I found this photo (by Angela Poulson) of a mural in celebration of it. (Click image for more detail.)
University of Arizona professor Alfred Quiroz and students from his fall 2006 mural painting class created this colorful, one-of-a-kind mural on the exterior south wall of the Phoenix Science Operations Center. The 20 by 60 foot mural celebrating the mission was made possible through a collaboration between the UA School of Art and the UA’s Lunar and Planetary Laboratory.
Since I’d like to get another hour’s sleep before starting my Tuesday, I’ll do a later post with some information and links I found about the Phoenix mission for you, and leave you to enjoy the mural. (Of course, you can get a head start by going to where I found the mural and linking to the rest of the mission site.)

phoenix is always inspiring to me even if it is a spacecraft landing on Mars.
I wrote a small article on Phoenix, spacecraft one:
What is Phoenix?
