Have you seen them? March Fourth? They’re quite excellent, rather hard to describe. Clickable photos below open up the somewhat abstract teaser above. They played for an hour at Temple Bar on Friday night and were really amazing. (The Temple Bar in Santa Monica; sadly I was not in Dublin although with the rain and so forth, I was in the mood – you know: guinness, the Irish, etc).
Great music, very full sound from lots of wonderful instrumentation, and yes: dancing girls, feathers, sequins, dancers on stilts, belly dancing, curious movements with hula hoops… all the things I’ve (ahem) come to expect from my typical Friday evenings out.
Mixture of concert and circus, I’d say. Best parts of both. And no animals were harmed.
