Completed Seminar

institute_seminar__finished_smallWell, the seminar is still in progress, as you can see from the picture, but my work on rendering it is completed, more or less. (One never stops tinkering at these things, but I’m going to move on.) This is the more refined version of the rough I showed you a couple of posts ago here. This panel is part of the opening splash page for this particular story of the graphic book project and so what you’re actually seeing is one of three tiny inserts on top of a larger establishing-shot kind of splash/bleed page. So the truth is that it’ll be so small on the page that almost nobody is likely to care about whether I gave a particular person a particular colour of shoe, but of course I’ve thought about it. In fact, since the tiny panels are connected, I had to make sure that all the hair and clothing colours matched from panel to panel. Like I said, most will not care, but I’ll care, and for those (no matter how few) who want to take the time and read slowly and savour the page, there’ll be details they can enjoy.

Who am I kidding? I’ve no idea if this thing will ever see publication of any sort. But on I slog…

(You know, it would probably help immensely if I actually had a conversation with a publisher. I really must put on my “to-do” list! 😉 )
