Actually, I’m super-excited…! There is a New Hope coming. I’m daring to dream… ok just a little bit. (Sorry to be cryptic…More later.)

Hard to express my feelings about this news. Quincy Jones is a massive part of the foundations of my formative years (in so much music across genres and media). Inevitable passing, of course, but no less sad… Thanks for the music and inspiration Quincy!

Woohoo!
That is great news!
Ok… It has officially been announced today, so I can reveal why I’m excited. We have a very capable new Dean for the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, and one who I think is perfectly suited to tackle the challenges we face as an institution right now. Just based on her trajectory so far, I consider her appointment to be one of the best things to have happened at USC for a long time in terms of potential for the next big leap forward. The news is so new there’s no website to link to as yet… but the appointee is Amber Miller, currently Dean of Science at Columbia. (Sorry Brian, Andy, Eric, and other Columbia friends for stealing her away….)

Don’t get so excited that you jump to another orbital. Falling back is a bummer, although energy is released.
Agent Carter lives!!!
Han Solo made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs… so SOMEBODY understands parallax.

F=ma+m’, where m’=midichlorians?
Based on what I’ve seen of the Star Wars universe (which I mostly love) there simply cannot be any astrophysicist or any other kind of physicists in that universe. The profession would not exist, since there are no consistent physical rules of that universe to study. At best, in that universe, they’d be about as effective as Astrologers.
If there was an equally-derogatory depiction of an astrophysicist in the Star Wars universe, you’d have his/her name committed to memory as well!
“If it’s not in the Jedi archives, it doesn’t exist.” Hmph. You imperious old …

Er. No Jocasta Nu. (and phew, thank you google! 😀 )
Just as long as Jocasta Nu doesn’t come with it. Stinking stereotypes… Blargh!
(after googling…) No, but the right sort of direction.. 😀
Might it be coming in on the gusts of a particularly strong wind from a land of big shoulders?
No, but I’ve managed to prove that not all of them have (useful) gravity duals…. only when they have red arms – and even then not always.
(Of course, at this time in my life, “there is a New Hope coming” could just mean I ordered some new diaper covers off Amazon Prime, same day delivery….)
Something Star Wars…? Did you find the gravity dual of a protocol droid?
