Well, while it is not Spring time quite yet, I thought I’d share this with you. I’ve quite a soft spot for collections of things like this. It is probably a throwback to my days of taking things apart in my childhood and teenage years, keeping the bits and using them later in fixing various things. On various shelves in my bedroom, I’d have jars of screws, springs, resistors, capacitors, and so forth.
I passed this shop in Madrid. I think that the name was something like “Spring”, but I might not be remembering right. The point is that it seems to be almost entirely filled with springs. Excellent! I took these shots while standing outside looking in at the display windows, so sorry about the reflections.

Hi Jude. Thank you. You have made me very glad that I shared the springs…

My dad was a mechanic who collected odd bits of this and that. He’d dig through a can of bolts until he found just the right one for a particular project. “I knew I had one of these somewhere,” he’d say. I developed the habit of picking up every nut, bolt, spring, and other odd object that he might someday be able to use. I still remember the irony back in 1981 when I bent to pick up a bolt by the road on my way to the funeral home to view his body. He would have loved a store filled with springs.
