It always surprises me how delightful the strong scent from these blossoms can be. The other day, I stepped into a corner of the garden I’d not been to for a few days and for a moment could not work out what that amazing smell was. After a moment or two, I saw the blossoms. It is a six foot tall orange tree (mostly ornamental), which is quite splendidly elegant in shape and faithful in its bearing of fruit. In the shot to the right you can see that it still has oranges from last round as well (the local annoying squirrel vermin/pests are not as thorough – or maybe they have too many goodies to choose from, grrrrrr).
I think I might try again this year to do something creative with its not-so-tasty fruit. Marmalade, perhaps.
