    A couple of nights ago we went out again to photog A couple of nights ago we went out again to photograph the #comet, which currently hangs for a good while in the early evening sky each night like a holiday decoration. A few seconds exposure on slightly better optics than the phone yields some nice results. #astronomy
    Four nights late due to overcast #SantaBarbara ski Four nights late due to overcast #SantaBarbara skies, but the youngster and I went out a-hunting and got a very nice view of the #comet all the same. The massive full moon behind us helped dim further, but still great to see!!
    A bit more handsome specimen of the gluten-free lo A bit more handsome specimen of the gluten-free loaf of a couple of days ago. Extremely consistent and well thought out recipe from @theloopywhisk (I can’t wait for her new book!)
    Major breakthrough here! I think I can now start m Major breakthrough here! I think I can now start making yeast-risen bread again, which I’ve not been doing since I switched to gluten-free baking. Some online research revealed that the key is psyllium husk! The best use of it I’ve seen is on @theloopywhisk with several spectacular ideas and recipes and a welcome scientific approach. Will be experimenting more to improve things and try different flours, and with my little collaborator! #baking #foodanddrink

Then just watched this little robot very cleverly navigate some pathways on the UCLA campus, avoiding stairs, figuring out where the ramps were…
    Because…it’s the end of the long weekend, and Because…it’s the end of the long weekend, and in a sense the end of #Summer2024 ? But mostly it’s because #lagavulin16 is one of my favourite things to sip in the whole wide world.

    Last day in London/UK/Europe for a while. Was a ve Last day in London/UK/Europe for a while. Was a very productive visit, both professionally and personally, so I’m feeling satisfied. Looking forward to dropping my case off at checkin and sitting in reflection until boarding time… #worktravel
    Wow, Centrepoint sure has changed since this area Wow, Centrepoint sure has changed since this area of London was my stomping ground. Diners (and view) at one of the many wings of the huge Din Tai Fung in the complex there… #centrallondon
    Never toured the inside of the Houses of Parliamen Never toured the inside of the Houses of Parliament before, seeing all the red and green colour coded areas (lords and commons - look at the benches next time you see debates in either place) and busts and statues of some of the shapers, for better or worse, of much of the fabric of UK democracy. (Thanks to my sister for this wonderful opportunity!) BTW, most of the interesting stuff I saw was off limits to photos, sorry!

    Hard to express my feelings about this news. Quincy Jones is a massive part of the foundations of my formative years (in so much music across genres and media). Inevitable passing, of course, but no less sad… Thanks for the music and inspiration Quincy!
