I promised two things in a previous post. One was the incomplete sketch I did of Crater lake and West Maroon Valley (not far from Aspen) that I started before the downpour began, last weekend. It is on the left (click to enlarge.) The other is a collection of the wild flowers and other pretty things that I picked for you (non-destructively) from my little hike in the West Maroon valley. There’s Columbine, Indian Paintbrush, and so forth, along with some industrious insects in some instances. It is a slide show you can view by clicking on any of the thumbnails below, and then either wait for it to play automatically, or look to the sides (when your mouse is over a photo) for front and back arrows to move around. Enjoy!

C – You are going to have to redo the sketch – when you said Crater Lake I thought you meant *the* Crater Lake. I think the colors are nice in the fall so make sure you get up there!
Beautiful flowers! And beautiful drawing too.
Awesome hike! Native plants are my obsession and I am extremely jealous.
flowers are very beautiful……
Flowers heal the soul — because they cover up bad fart smells.
Thanks!

Flowers speak to the soul… because they speak the same language – energy.
