Yes, I confess that I do think of a certain time machine when I see one of these. This one was parked next to my car in Pasadena not long ago.

Fun story: we actually had a “Doc Brown” in our physics department who bore an uncanny resemblance to the movie one, perhaps because of white hair and a habit of wearing wonderfully outrageous suits and that’s all it really takes. I’ve been on a first name basis with every other professor in the department for years but somehow could never do it with him because it was such a great moniker!
