Yes, still with the morning baking. I feel a bit bad about not getting bagels from Brooklyn Bagels (on Beverly) anymore (after six years of being a regular), but there’s only so much I can eat in baked goods and I seem to be in the mood to do it all myself these days.

Not sure why I’ve never done these before:

Sweet potato biscuits*. Perfect for using up that left over sweet potato, and, like all biscuits (in the Southern sense) you have them about half an hour from when you first started making them, and so they are perfect for quick freshly baked breakfast fare, especially if you need sustenance for a busy day or two ahead.

  2. I made some sweet-potato bread a few months ago. It was hard to find a recipe that wasn’t disgustingly sweet–most recipes are Southern, after all. But what I hit on was good, except that the result didn’t taste as sweet-potatoey as I was hoping.

    Hi,

I have them with various things, depending upon the meal. No gravy for me at breakfast, for sure.

  4. Sounds delicious! Can I get a recipe? Do you eat them with gravy, or plain?
