Fashionably Deconstructed

Spotted in the windows of a Department store (Hermes?) in Dublin (click for larger):

They are trying to invoke a car that has been taken apart and draped with splendid hermes 2 clothing to form the display. In the picture below (click for larger), the second window’s oil can, in the carefully chosen-to-match colour, is a very nice touch, I think. The first window does work quite a bit better though. However I do like the fact that they just have the engine hanging there like that, in the second window. Close up of it in the thumbnail. I wonder what sort it is?

Quite different from the hats in Harrods – remember those? – but quite a clever display idea all the same.

One Response to Fashionably Deconstructed

I think that the deconstructed car is an ingenious idea. Who could have thought of something more clever and original. I plan to base one of my upcoming artworks on it. Fabulous!
