Some rather exciting looking rainclouds, and a strong wind! Will we get some decent rain? Something like a biblical downpour, as promised by these clouds?
[Later:] A few spits of rain, but really nothing. Then back to sunshine again, disappointingly. We need some rain here in Los Angeles! Desperately.
To make the point more clearly, have a look at the site Climatestations.com for data on how we’re doing for rain as compared to the seasonal average. It is very disturbing.
If you look at the graph from 
the site, last updated two days ago (click the thumbnail for larger view) you’ll see that the blue line is the expected seasonal average (over the long term) while the green bars are the actual rain we’ve had. January should be closer to 6 or 7 inches… we barely managed an inch!

I wish you could have some of our rain! England has just had the wettest January on record with some communities in the south west having the armed forces present to sort out the effects of the flooding.
