Head Lines

Well, here I am, almost at the end of Saturday, and rather behind on where I wanted to be. Somehow, a half-day shoot for a TV show turned into an all day marathon, due to a series of mishaps and so forth. The first part of the shoot was fun (it involved me in a pool hall, occasionally potting balls and so forth), but not the second. But I soldiered on, managing to explain a bunch of concepts about quantum mechanics, spacetime, and quantum gravity. We’ll see what comes of it. It’s all for science, and for you…

So much of the afternoon had been set aside of writing, and for maybe a little drawing practice, and it’s all mostly gone now and the only thing I feel left in the mood for is a movie or some other passive form of being, in order to rest. I’m tempted by the idea of going somewhere where there are lots of people and sitting and sketching and observing. Perhaps a bar, cafe, or a mall, but I’m too tired to go out. So instead I’ll probably stay home and enjoy just….being home.

I’ll leave you with the most recent heads I’ve done, back on Monday. I’m reasonably pleased them since although quite incomplete, they were done quite quickly (as part of a complete figure in each case) and actually look like the person I was drawing, which is always a bonus… I had a great time bringing out the hair in quick side-pencil strokes…

One Response to Head Lines

I think you’re incompletes look well in comparison to some of your others. Occasionally your drawing looks a little overworked although I can see that you erase quite a lot… speed is good for developing technique. I also love that widget with the drawings in your sidebar btw- very cute!
