It has been too long since I have seen rain here. Many months, in fact. Today’s rain is very welcome indeed. Also welcome has been the opportunity to feel enough of a chill during the day to put on a jacket, to see lots of low clouds, to see a different kind of light and smell a different odour in the air, sensations that I know from elsewhere, and seemingly long ago.
Welcome, rain!

This makes me miss LA very, very much. Sigh.
The smells were absolutely wonderful today. Native sage in my garden combined with the Eucalyptus trees in the neighborhood and all the other spicy fragrant plants made for an intoxicating natural air freshener and we all know, L.A. could use a good air freshener.
Yes! The same smells hit me today…sage and Eucalyptus coming through strongly. Was also pleased to see snails out and about merrily zipping along. (At er… a snail’s pace, of course.)
