Harvard has launched a new menswear line, Harvard Yard. They seem to be going for a certain look. Have a look at this article over on Fashion Inquisitor. The first two pictures are particularly hilarious to me. Maybe a new “dork chic” look for the next regeneration of the Doctor?
Dork chic. Hey, did I just invent that term? I like it as companion to Geek chic.

On this day on Asymptotia...
- Red, Gold, and Green - 2009
- Breathing - 2008
- So in SEED... - 2007
- My Springfield Persona - 2007
- Watch That Space! - 2006
- Matters of Security - 2006
- Talking Heads On Strings - 2006
- Aspen Talks - 2006

Those outfits are hilarious! Plonker is definitely the right word. I am particularly amused by the middle one above, and the one in the link with the stripy trousers, stripy jacket and white shoes. I just made a fool of myself falling over in Sainsbury’s (and hurt my wrist to boot), and this cheered me right up - thanks!
Yeah, the middle one is priceless.

I remember when the signature look of the sartorially compromised savant was horrid shorts and sandals worn with socks. This horrid shorts/shirts and leather slip-ons without socks look is even worse. At least the old school geek was guilty only of sins of omission - these chaps really should know better.
Ah but to look like the Doctor…
Where is the long coat? Me likes the Doctor’s long coat. I hope the new Doctor has a long coat.

I just find it odd that a school (outside of secondary private schools) would promote an informal dress. The true elitism that IS Harvard.
I love your title and the photos (especially the middle one!) I laughed so loudly I woke the baby (not so funny…)
