		<description>Clif, I've been reading you now for several months.  I love your blog and what you do here.  

I share a lot of your post with my 12 year old son who, along with myself live in an older catholic and ethnically mixed neighborhood here in Kansas City.  He's always liked math more than anything except perhaps pancakes and he's enamored with astronomy.  It's only fitting that he wants to be an astro-physicist.  He's a standout at his middle school as the only kid in ages that's come through with such aspirations because as you say most kids want to be star athletes and such.  So all is not lost.  There are kids in the hood that "get it" too - still.</description>
