Forgive me for being silly and off-topic, but when I read "Double Special Relativity" I couldn't help thinking of "double secret probation," from Animal House.

Clifford, I totally totally totally know what you mean. I I love hearing people speak English with a Latin American Spanish accent (and increasingly now that I live in the UK, with a Texan accent), when I'm not expecting to hear that accent. It makes me go all warm inside and feel at home and think of sitting in the sun eating tamarind and mango.

*Puts on linguist hat* I've been doing some sociolinguistics research on Caribbean English creoles. Not from Montserrat though.

ah Barbados. A most lovely place. I visited there some years ago and found it delightful. Having grown up in Miami, the climate is perfect in my opinion with daily highs always (year round) in the mid-80's.

The one person stands selling Guinness, flying fish, and friendly people all made it a wonderful place. We were fortunate enough to stay at the Glitter Bay resort, a very upscale locale somewhat by accident.

Anyway nice memories to be sure.

Ah...that's cool! My chances of finding someone other than me of Kashmiri descent, doing quantum information theory are very, very rare. The only person who comes to mind is Shamit Kachru at Stanford.
