I can not overstate the importance of ART Walks to the communities in which they occur. Even if you don't live in, or near, downtown LA, there are these sorts of activities across the nation. Find out when the one near you is next scheduled and get out there. Nearly all of the time you will find some piece of art (regardless of media) that connects with you, and most of time the artist will be in the vicinity more than willing to talk about it. ART Walks are meaningful, free, cultural exchanges open to everyone and all too often under-appreciated. Thank you Clifford for bringing up this reminder.

(disclaimer: i am an ARTS Commissioner for my city; i work on our ART Walks and the Visual & Performing Arts tour activities)
