I went for a nice hazy-then-sunny hike this morning in Griffith Park, and decided to try a way up that I have not used in a while. I’d forgotten how wonderful it is to approach the Griffith Observatory using the trails directly below it.
It’s such a majestic building! – A lovely backdrop to some of the hike up to the peak behind, growing rapidly larger as you approach, and then the trail levels out and takes you to the entry grounds where you can cross the (to scale) orbits of the outer planets handily marked out for you and then continue on up Mount Hollywood.

Thanks! I did not know about those cameras over on Mt Lee before. I shall have to check them during the day to see what there is to be seen.

It was quite a day in Griffith Park. We went up the back side and hiked to “behind the Hollywood sign.” Now, that’s a view. Cameras everywhere, as seen here (#4).
