Wow, i haven't thought of the number 2 line in years. I used to use the western section of it to get to UCLA from the Palisades; and before that the Santa Monica blue bus routes from Venice. Sunset Blvd. from UCLA to the Silverlake district on a Saturday must have been a pretty colorful and unique visual show. I have expanded my mass transit use and look somewhat forward to being able to ride the new LA metro someday.

USC didn't have a particularly good weekend, losing in Water Polo too. UCLA lost that Soccer championship to UCSB, but in a sense the 9 campus University of California's had one of their better overall weeks in sports, so i raise a coffee toast to the blues and golds of the State.

A small group of my neighbours, dressed head to foot in cardinal and gold, silently filed past my apartment at about 5:30pm with the air of people who had been to a funeral.

Gosh... UCLA are having quite the weekend.... Onje of my students pointed out that there was a little bit too much swagger on the part of our students leading up to today, and so maybe this loss is for the better...Perhaps he is right. But I bet there'll be some upset people tonight, sorry to say...

Thanks!

Yes, UCLA upset USC 13-9 in American football. But UCLA also upset Virginia 4-nil in international football (soccer). NCAA soccer finals Sunday: UCLA vs UCSB.

"hope you got a free parking pass"

No need. I did not drive. And I hopped on the number 2 bus all the way back home along Sunset Boulevard for a very pleasant Saturday ride through the city.... I imagine there was a big eruption of joy on the campus after I left, since when I got off the bus I heard that the Trojans had got their sword bent out of shape a bit.

Hail to the hills of Westwood, and the mighty sea below. Go Bruins!!!

I suspect the young lady feels about the stuffed bear the way i feel about that stupid horse and Conquest by Alfred Newman. Dragging in the mud would be too kind.

Enjoy your day at my lovely alma mater; hope you got a free parking pass.

And yes, gators fans like me will be watching the game keenly from the other seaboard. Not so much for the anticipated game action, but rather the end result. Go Bruins!
